2017 Coronica Gran Teran

2017 Coronica Gran Teran

A fantastic example of the native Croatian Teran grape

This unique Croatian red is made from the native grapes found in Istria. These are traditionally very difficult grapes to grow, but the hard work and effort is abundantly clear from the first sip. This is a complex wine with notes of black cherries and blackberry, with undertones of mushrooms, earth, and vanilla. The tannins are strong but extremely silky, bringing a velvety texture to the body of this wine. This has the structure to age well over the next 5-10 years, but drinks well today with at least an hour of decanting. This one is highly recommended if you are looking for a unique wine and grape variety that most typically never try. This pairs very well with red meats, charcuterie boards, and even game meats.
